Kevin Lewis Fougerousse

“An American painter, Kevin Lewis Fougerousse passionately composes his compositions by giving us an unfiltered look into the rawest places of his psyche. We are allowed to peak through a cracked door and attempt to find meaning in the mysteries stretched before us. His unorthodox perception of this world makes his translation of it a subject of beautiful intrigue.

A starboard mind, his faith within and years spent in a California abode all work as one to cultivate the artist’s insight on the world around. Through the streets of Los Angeles and the desert mountain surrounds he marked paths with the hearts of those

who would leave memories like permanent sleep lines upon one’s face. From that intersection, the indelible un-erasable memoirs of that life are now being recorded by each one of his brush strokes made.

Fougerousse has left the west in search to momentarily return to the empty rooms of what was his childhood home. This self imposed solitude has seemingly ignited something inside of him and as a result he is producing the most compelling work of his career. When asked to expound on his current collection he simply smiled and said “I’m an artist, not an open book,” sat back and shrugged with glistening eyes, picking the paint

beneath his nails, “It is my search. It’s my tears and my hope. The pieces of my heart, my life laid out. My art. . . It’s all I have to give.”
